Welcome to the Department of Biology! Our department is one of the largest at Temple University and serves a diverse student body with broad interests. Our internationally recognized faculty apply interdisciplinary approaches to research and teaching that fall broadly into three areas of expertise: Molecular & Cellular Biology, Evolutionary Genomics & Computational Biology, and Ecology & Biodiversity. The depth and breadth of the Department allow us to address a wide variety of societal challenges and to offer several innovative degrees, including a variety of combined undergraduate and masters programs that can be completed in just five years. We incorporate research training into our curriculum at every level from first-year in college to the completion of a Ph.D. to help students achieve their goals and prepare for their careers.
