Giving Opportunities

Support specific initiatives

College of Science and Technology Dean's Scholarship Fund

Alumni and friends can support outstanding students with a gift to the Dean’s Scholarship Fund. Scholarships create more opportunities for talented students to succeed and go on to successful careers in medicine, technology, pharmaceutical research and other vital areas.

Edward and Frances Fineman Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established in 1995 by Robert M. Fineman, CST ’66, in memory of his parents, to provide scholarships for undergraduate chemistry students who have financial need and demonstrated academic achievement.

College of Science and Technology Dean's Fund for Endowed Professorships

CST’s extraordinary professors conduct innovative research and invent advanced technology. They attract research dollars and inspire students to excel. Today, many universities are competing fiercely for a small cadre of scientific superstars. To continue attracting remarkable talent, CST needs donor support to establish two term professorships within the college. Gifts toward endowed term professorships help attract top researchers and top teachers, and the income the funds generate supports leading-edge research in the lab and in the field.

College of Science and Technology Annual Fund

Support for the college used wherever the need is greatest, from faculty to facilities.

CST Graduate Fellowship Top Up Fund

Graduate students work side by side with faculty and help push scientific inquiry in promising new directions. Talented students want to work with our experienced researchers, but to attract promising PhD candidates the college must offer the same level of funding as other top institutions. To do that, CST needs additional funding for fellowships.

CST Owl to Owl Student Mentoring Program

In just a few meetings spread out over two semesters, CST alumni can have a big impact on a student’s education and career. Mentors help students think about what they want to achieve in life, set goals and map out strategies for achieving their dreams. Support for Owl to Owl helps the college attract more alumni mentors and encourage CST students to join the program.

Steven W. Szczepanski Memorial Student Support Fund

The fund provides financial assistance to CST students who have encountered financial hardships that may hinder their academic progress or force them to withdraw from the current academic semester. Support can include food, housing and other essential needs.

College of Science and Technology Undergraduate Research Fund

At CST, real-world research projects are an essential part of the curriculum. Introduced in 2009, the Undergraduate Research Program’s goals were straightforward: Get talented and motivated students into the laboratory with world-class Temple researchers and remove those obstacles that keep students from participating in advanced research projects as undergraduates. Today’s students need to have lab experience, especially if they are planning on going to medical or dental school. Increasingly, even entry-level positions require lab experience. In such a competitive market—for jobs as well as for spots in highly competitive graduate programs—advanced research experience provides URP students with a distinct edge.

TUteach - College of Science and Technology

Whether teaching is a student’s ultimate career goal or not, TUteach offers graduates many career options. TUteach graduates have gone on to graduate school in STEM disciplines, medical school, dental school, pharmacy school and more. Many are teaching in public and private schools in the Greater Philadelphia area.
